Grand Master’s Palace

Grand Master’s Palace is one of Valletta’s most important historic buildings and a major Heritage Malta attraction on St George’s Square. The palace was the seat of the Grand Masters of the Order of St John and today combines state functions with museum spaces open to the public.

The Palace State Rooms

The State Rooms form part of the visitor route and preserve the ceremonial character of the palace. Access can occasionally be restricted because the building continues to have official functions, so visitors should check current notices before arriving.

The Palace Armoury

The restored Armoury is one of the palace’s major collections. Heritage Malta highlights armour associated with Grand Masters Alof de Wignacourt and Jean de Valette, Ottoman armour and weapons, and artillery pieces. The collection reflects the military history and material culture of the Order of St John.

Tickets

Current standard admission prices published by Heritage Malta are €12 for adults, €10 for youths aged 12–17, €10 for senior citizens aged 60+, and €8 for children aged 6–11. Infants aged 1–5, Heritage Malta members and Heritage Malta Passport holders are admitted free under the published tariff.
